String Bet – noun
A form of Angle Shooting, a string bet is made when a player places a bet using his/her chips (waits to see the reaction of their opponents) and then makes an additional bet by reaching for more chips and putting them out with the original bet. That’s a mouthful so re-read that last sentence. It’s something that many rookie poker players do when they play their first game of live poker but definitely something to avoid.
Here I am holding TPTK thinking my hand is very strong – then this Donkey to my right makes a big String Bet that’s larger than the pot. I have no idea where I’m at in this hand now.
